The Stamford Professional Fire Fighter's Association is proud to announce that we are supporting and promoting a new safety initiative aimed at reducing the number of Fire Fighter and First-Responder related deaths and injuries due to apparatus accidents.

Designed by Stamford Fire Captain Matthew Palmer, the announcements are dedicated to getting Fire Personnel to buckle-up when responding and returning.

The premise is simple: Every response from the fire house is a round trip ticket for our personnel.

According to the U.S. Fire Administration, 2 of every 10 fire fighter fatalities in 2007 occurred while responding or returning.  All to often, many of these Fire Fighters did not have a seat belt on. We cannot allow our most valuable resources to be injured or killed due to the lack of a seat belt!
