It is with a very heavy heart that we announce the passing of Local 786 President Brendan Keatley's Father. At this time, no further information is available regarding funeral arrangements or services.
 
Please hold Brendan and his family in your prayers during this tough time in his personal life. Additional information will be posted and e-mailed as soon as it is confirmed.

Millions of New Tax Dollars Proposed To Support Mayor Pavia's "Unified" Fire Service??
Mayor Pavia has proposed a new "plan" to establish a new Fire Department to serve the northern 2/3 of the City of Stamford. This new Department will cost upwards of 10 million dollars per year just to start and will only rise over time. How is he going to pay for this? A new FIRE TAX on homeowners!!! All of this during a time when he promised to hold the line on property taxes and essential City programs and services have been cut and hundreds of City jobs have been eliminated. On Monday, May 10, 2010, a Long Ridge Fire Chief cancelled numerous City and Volunteer Fire Units responding to assist his Department during a chimney fire. That Chief was NOT on scene yet and quickly learned that he had more than "just a chimney fire" . Click to listen to the actual radio broadcast of the initial dispatch and cancellation.
