Stamford Engine 5 Firefighters Safely Remove Nine Ducklings and Escort Family Back to the Mill River.

Firefighters from Engine Company 5 assisted Stamford Animal Control Officers on Summer Street this morning to safely rescue nine ducklings from a catch basin.

The removal was all done under the watchful eye and approval of the mother duck and without incident.

Once reunited, Engine 5 personnel provided a safety escort for all ducks from Summer Street to Bridge Street, across Washington Blvd. and back into the Mill River.

Thanks to Captain Ryan Kerwin and Firefighters Jimmy Romaniello Jr., Nick DeAngelo, and Jon Coscarelli for their efforts.
